State fuel credits, earned every quarter

California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)

In California, chargers, hydrogen stations and clean fuels earn credits every quarter that can be sold.

What it pays for

  • Credits for the electricity or hydrogen your stations dispense
  • Credits for fuels produced or supplied below the state's carbon-intensity benchmark
  • Credits sold to fuel suppliers who must meet the standard, for as long as the station runs

What decides it

  • Registering each station or fuel pathway with the California Air Resources Board
  • Who generates the credits at each site: the site host, the equipment owner, or someone they appoint
  • Accurate metered data, reported on time every quarter, and records ready for verification

Where it stands

LCFS runs continuously. The Air Resources Board amended the regulation in 2024, and we apply the current rules to each site.

Last reviewed October 2026 against the official sources below. Program rules change; we confirm the current rules before any application.

These credits are earned for as long as the station or fuel keeps running, so the work is recurring: registration once, then reporting every quarter. We run it as an ongoing service.

How we help

  • Register your stations and set up the fuel pathways
  • Collect the meter data and file the quarterly reports
  • Keep the records ready for verification
  • Coordinate credit sales or transfers

$2,500 per application, plus 5% of funds received. How fees work
