Utility incentives, by service territory

Utility EV make-ready programs and charger rebates

Many utilities pay for the wiring and upgrades chargers need, and offer rebates on the chargers.

What it pays for

  • The electrical work up to the charger: service upgrades, conduit, wiring and panels
  • Rebates toward the cost of the chargers
  • In some programs, design and construction managed by the utility itself

What decides it

  • Which utility serves the site, and what it offers today
  • Pre-approval before work begins, which many programs require
  • Budgets that are often first come, first served, and close when spent

Where it stands

Programs differ by utility and state, and change as budgets are spent and renewed. We check what your utility offers before any work starts.

Last reviewed October 2026 against the official sources below. Program rules change; we confirm the current rules before any application.

How we help

  • Find the programs in your utility's territory
  • File for pre-approval before construction
  • Coordinate with the utility through design and construction
  • Claim the rebates after commissioning

$2,500 per application, plus 5% of funds received. How fees work
